A Russian-made cargo plane crashed in Dalmia area of Karachi soon after taking off from the Jinnah International Airport late on Saturday, Dunya News reported.
At least 11 including 8 crew members are reported dead. The plane was an IL76 Russian cargo plane, with flight number MGCC-412. According to aviation sources, it came from the United Arab Emirates and was en route to Sudanese capital, Khartoum. The plane took off at 1:48 am and crashed onto an under construction building in a residential area of Gulistan-e-Johar.

ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Sahibzada Fazal Karim on Saturday said the SIC will not allow the repeal of the blasphemy laws. He said terrorism had distorted Pakistan’s image across the globe, adding that those persuading people for suicide bombings were not loyal to Pakistan.
Hundreds of SIC activists started a nearly 200-mile long march on Saturday in a protest against Taliban attacks on the country’s religious sites.
